Prof. Byrnes Sharing Viewpoints on TTP

TTP, or Thousand Talents Plan, is a program initiated by the Chinese government to attract Chinese scholars to go home and foreign scientists to come to China. Prof. Byrnes is one of the overseas scholars sponsored by TTP.

In a recent conversation with South China Morning Post, Prof. Byrnes shared his viewpoints that although he is not sure whether the TTP fellowship would impact his future applications for positions in American institutions, he still believes that talent recruiting programs like TTP should be a scientific rather than political problem.
